Tatiana Medal was born in A Coruña in 1971 and graduated in Fine Arts, specialising in Painting, from the University of Vigo. She completed her training at Ar.Co, Centro de Arte e Comunicação Visual, in Lisbon. Since then, she has pursued an ongoing investigation into colour, cartography, structure and space, positioning her work between expanded painting and poetic geometry.

Her practice has been supported by grants and residencies at leading international centres, including the Spanish Academy in Rome, the Collège d'Espagne in Paris, the International Studio & Curatorial Program in New York, and institutions in Amsterdam and Berlin. She has also received awards including the Grand Honorary Prize at the A Coruña Autumn Painting Salon and the Acquisition Prize at the Isaac Díaz Pardo Visual Arts Competition.

She has presented solo exhibitions at Fundación Luis Seoane, MACUF, Centro Torrente Ballester, Weston & Rodríguez Fine Art in Mallorca, the University of A Coruña, the SCQ Galeria in Santiago de Compostela and Módulo, Centro Difusor de Arte, in Lisbon and Porto.

She has taken part in group exhibitions at institutions including MARCO in Vigo, CGAC in Santiago de Compostela, IVAM and Cidade da Cultura de Galicia.

She has also taken part on several occasions in ARCO Madrid, the Lisbon Art Fair and Art Forum Berlin.

Her work is held in major collections including the ABANCA Collection, CGAC, Fundación Barrié de la Maza, Spain's Ministry of Culture and Museo de Pontevedra, among others.

In Portugal, her work is represented in the PMLJ Collection, the collection of the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the art collection of the former BES.
