Founded in Lisbon on 12 October 2024, Módulo Twist is a contemporary art gallery that incorporates an artist's studio within the same space. This dual character affirms its identity as a place of process, where creation, curatorial practice and exhibition coexist continuously. 

Dedicated to promoting contemporary artistic practices, the gallery develops a flexible programme tailored to the specific nature of each project, prioritising emerging practices and distinctive voices. 

With the studio of artist Luís Carballo integrated into the space, Módulo Twist offers a direct experience of artistic practice in progress, strengthening the proximity between artist, work and public. 

Rooted in a strong cultural connection with Galicia, the gallery seeks to build bridges between artistic contexts, fostering dialogue and collaboration between communities. 

We are situated in Lisbon's burgeoning Marvila district, Módulo Twist is both daring and flexible, offering a versatile canvas for artistic expression. It is located in a street with other distinguished galleries and ateliers, and thrives within an energetic, creative ecosystem.

The project is defined by two key areas: one hosting Luis Carballo Atelier and the other a fully adaptable art gallery. With two large, movable walls, the gallery space can be transformed to accommodate the unique demands of each exhibition or event.

Who are we:

Luis Carballo is a multidisciplinary artist raised in a family of entrepreneurs and designers. His early passion for photography and painting evolved into a career spanning multiple creative fields.  luiscarballoatelier.com

Maria Assunção Albuquerque is co-founder of Módulo Twist.  Maria has a degree in Modern English and German Literature from Universidade Nova and a Postgraduate degree in Marketing; she brings 30 years of experience in the creative industry. 

Our professional backgrounds in marketing and design reflect our dedication and strategic vision, while our passion for gastronomy adds a unique, welcoming touch to our hosting style.

We mentor and guide artists, aligning strategy and content to help their projects accelerate and flourish.
