Iván Prieto

Iván Prieto was born in 1978 in O Barco, Ourense, Spain. He is a sculptor, installation artist, and illustrator. His work stands at the forefront of contemporary surrealism, distinguished by its tactile storytelling and theatrical essence.

A Fine Arts graduate from the Complutense University of Madrid (2002), Iván continued his studies at the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht, Holland (2002–2003). He later moved to Berlin, where he lived and continued his art research for five years. He now divides his time between Berlin and Spain.

His work has been exhibited across Europe and China and featured in major cultural institutions such as the College of Spain and the Palace of Versailles in Paris, the Spanish Embassy in Berlin, Sophie’s Palace in Utrecht, and the Museum Kloster Asbach in Germany.

He annually participates in leading contemporary art fairs.

His pieces form part of prestigious collections, including FUNDCJA UNIKAT (Poland), Universidad de Madrid, Universidad de Toledo, Casa de Galicia (Madrid), Colegio de España (Paris), Fundación Granell (Santiago de Compostela), and the Museo Insular de la Palma (Canary Islands).
